"Quality is never and accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort." -Mr. John Ruskin, 19th century writer and thinker. Genuine quality is harder to come by and does not mean simply well-made or acceptable. Real quality is that which is superior. It is the result of thought, analysis, communication, sweat and honest-to-God hard labor, succinctly stated by Mr. Ruskin as "intelligent effort". True quality is giving each customer no less than exactly what they want and need. Nestled along the foothills of the Santa Lucia mountain range in Monterey County, Scheid Vineyards offers the tranquil beauty of far-reaching views, rolling hills and row upon row of lush vineyards. It is here that for more than 35 years, Scheid Vineyards has grown premier Monterey wine grapes. We believe great wine begins in the vineyard, and at Scheid Vineyards, we like to say it’s the grapes. Our ten estate vineyards in four distinct growing regions span an array of soils, microclimates and appellations which enables us to choose the finest vineyard blocks for our wines.
